Five Priorities for Making NSW Number 1 Again
Five Priorities

Five Priorities

NSW used to be the first state but after 15 years of Labor, we're falling behind. Barry O'Farrell and his team have launched a Five Point Plan to make NSW number one again.

Rebuild the NSW economy through lower taxes and business growth

Unashamedly, our first priority for NSW is restoring economic growth and establishing NSW as the ‘first place to do business’.

The NSW Liberals & Nationals understand the importance of a strong economy:

  • - as the driver of opportunity for individuals;
  • - as the creator of jobs and wealth; and
  • - as the source of revenue that government needs to provide services, tax cuts and infrastructure.

Return quality services in areas such as health, transport, education and community safety

NSW Liberals & Nationals know that the quality of essential services such as health, transport, education and community safety have declined over the past 15 years. We believe that the best place to start to return quality services is to consult the people who use them – the people of NSW.

Renovate the infrastructure that makes a difference to  both our economy and people’s lives

The first priority of the NSW Liberals & Nationals is growing our economy, because it is the means by which revenues are generated to deliver better services, tax cuts, build more infrastructure, create more jobs and offer people choices.

Renovating our infrastructure is central to achieving this objective, because the right infrastructure drives economic growth.

Restore Accountability to government and give people a real say on issues that affect their lives

A government’s only role is to serve the people.

Having a say in decisions that affect people and communities is fundamental to liberty and trust.

In other words, giving power to the people to make decisions and take responsibility for the decisions they make.

Protect our local environment and return planning powers to the community

The NSW Liberals & Nationals understand that people are interested in the quality of their environment, and its sustainability and management.

When communities have a real say on their local planning and environment, they are strongly motivated to take responsibility for other related issues that align with their preferences and local priorities.
