The NSW Legislative Assembly has passed the Carers Recognition Bill recognising the enormous contribution made by carers throughout the state of NSW, Shadow Minister for Disability Services and Ageing Andrew Constance said today.

The Bill is expected to pass the Legislative Council today. The Bill was introduced and passed in a bipartisan way after the NSW Liberals & Nationals first introduced the Carers Recognition Bill 2010 on the 12 March 2010.

Power Increases Too Tough On Families

Shadow Minister for Energy Duncan Gay today called on NSW Labor to reject IPART’s recommended electricity price rises.

IPART today released its final determination on electricity retail prices for the 3 years to June 2013, recommending total increases of between 46 and 64 per cent.

New Hope for Retirement Village Residents

The NSW Liberals & Nationals today won a victory in Parliament for thousands of residents of retirement villages who were set to suffer under a Government regulation which would see them pay more than their fair share of capital maintenance costs for their villages, Shadow Minister for Fair Trading Greg Aplin said today.
